Everything you need to know
about managing your
family's health with Maatra.

Is Maatra for someone like me?

I manage health for my parents and kids. Can I really put in one place?

Yes. Add your parents, children, spouse, in-laws — even pets. Each person gets their own profile with their own documents, reminders, and health history. You manage it all, switching between family members with a single tap.

What if my family member lives in another city?

That’s completely fine. You can manage records for a parent in another city, share access with a sibling who’s helping with care, and stay coordinated without being in the same room. Many families use Maatra across cities, and even across countries.

Can I add a friend or a non-family member?

Maatra is designed around the family unit. When you add a member, you confirm consent to manage their health data on their behalf. As long as you have that authority, you can add the people you care for.

My parents may not use the app. Is Maatra still for me?

Absolutely. Your parents don't need to download or use the app. You create their profiles, upload their documents, and set their reminders — all on your own. Maatra was designed for exactly this: one person managing health for the whole family.

Do family members need their own accounts?

No. You can manage everyone's records without them ever creating an account. If an adult family member wants their own access, you can invite them to join your family. Children and pets never need accounts.

How do I get started?

I have many old reports in WhatsApp and email. How do I even start?

Start small. Upload a few recent prescriptions or reports. That's enough to see value immediately. When you're ready, forward older documents from WhatsApp or email to Maatra. You don't need to digitise everything at once. Even 5–10 documents make a real difference.

How long does it take to set up an account?

Under a minute. Download the app, sign up with your phone number or email, and you're in. No payment details needed. Your 15-day free trial starts immediately. Maatra will guide you through the key actions you can complete at your own pace.

Photographing individual documents takes time. What are my options?

You don't have to. Forward PDFs directly from WhatsApp or email to your Maatra inbox, or select old images from your phone's gallery or file browser. You can upload up to 20 files at a time. The one-time effort of digitising is worth it: these records become permanently organised and searchable.

How do I upload documents via WhatsApp?

Make sure your mobile number is registered with Maatra. Save +91 9870597100 as a contact. Then forward any medical document from any WhatsApp conversation. Maatra processes it automatically, usually within a couple of minutes.

How does Maatra work day-to-day?

How easy is it to find a document?

Search by keyword — doctor's name, medicine, test type, even a symptom — and matching documents appear instantly. You can also browse by category (prescriptions, lab reports, bills) or filter by family member and time period. No more scrolling through WhatsApp threads or photo galleries.

How do reminders work?

You can set reminders for medications, doctor appointments, vaccinations, and insurance renewals. Choose the frequency, date, and time. Maatra sends you a notification when it's due. You can snooze, mark complete, or dismiss. Reminders are private to you.

What does emergency readiness look like?

Complete your profile with blood group, allergies, current medications, and emergency contacts. Maatra then generates an Emergency Card as a downloadable PDF. It's available even when your phone is offline. We recommend you share it with family members so it can be easily accessed in an emergency.

Can I share documents over WhatsApp?

Yes. Open any document in Maatra and tap Share. You can send it directly via WhatsApp, email, or any other app on your phone. Once shared, the document leaves Maatra's secure environment.

Do I need to use the app every day?

You don’t need to. Maatra is built around health events, not daily habits. Open it when you need to prepare for an appointment, check a medication, or handle an emergency. Your records are always there when you need them, and reminders come to you.

Can I trust Maatra with my
family's health data?

Who can see my family's medical data?

Only you and the family members you explicitly grant access to. No one at Maatra can casually browse your records. Documents are processed by software, not viewed by people. Access within our team is restricted, role-based, and audited.

You say no ads. Then how do you make money?

Subscriptions. Maatra is entirely funded by the families who use it. We don't sell data, don't show ads, and don't share your information with advertisers, hospitals, or insurance companies. Your subscription is what keeps us accountable to you.

Can I get all my data out if I want to leave?

Yes. You can download any document back to your phone at any time. If you choose to delete your account, your health records are permanently removed from our systems. We retain only consent and audit logs as required by Indian law.

Does Maatra use AI? Is it reading my reports?

Yes, Maatra uses AI to organise and understand your documents — reading prescriptions, categorising lab reports, and detecting trends. Your data is never used to train third-party AI models, and no human at Maatra views your records during this process.

How do I know Maatra will be around long-term?

We're building Maatra for the long term, backed by an experienced team and funded by families, not ad revenue that can disappear.

Your subscription

Why do you charge a subscription?

If we didn't charge a subscription, we'd have to have ads. This would mean sharing your data with third parties. We didn't want that. So we ask you to pay a subscription that funds everything that makes Maatra work: data encryption, storage, AI that reads and organises your documents, calm design. It also means we answer only to you, not to advertisers or data buyers.

What if I don't want to continue after the free trial?

No problem. You'll be notified before your trial ends. If you choose not to subscribe, you can download all your documents before the trial expires. After that, your data is securely deleted from Maatra's servers. Nothing is locked away or withheld.

Does the subscription cover my whole family or do I pay per person?

Your whole family. One subscription covers everyone — parents, children, spouse, in-laws, pets. No limits on members, and no per-person charges.

What if something goes wrong?

What happens in a medical emergency — can the doctor access records without my phone?

Your Emergency Card is a downloadable PDF that works offline. Save it to your phone or share it with family members. In an emergency, anyone who needs it can access it instantly.

What if I lose my phone?

Your data is securely stored in the cloud, not just on your device. Log in to Maatra on a new phone, and everything is there: documents, reminders, family profiles. Nothing is lost.

What happens if my payment fails?

You'll receive a notification, and your account stays active for a few days so you can update your payment method. Your data is never deleted due to a payment issue.

General

Can I use this on my laptop or desktop?

Maatra is currently designed as a mobile app for iOS and Android. We're focused on getting the mobile experience right first.

The app is called Maatra, but also refers to Moonjar Technologies. What is the relation?

Maatra is the product. Moonjar Technologies is the company behind it, founded by Shilpa and Rajdeep, both caregivers in their own families. The team brings over 100 years of combined experience across technology, healthcare, and enterprise platforms. We've spoken with dozens of Indian families to shape this product, and our subscription-only model means our only obligation is to you.

What can I expect from Maatra over the next few months?

We're actively building. Upcoming improvements include smarter health insights, richer health summaries, and expanded ways to access your information. We're shaped by user feedback, and what you tell us directly influences what we build next.
